The Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you like soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies, then this is the recipe for you. A very good friend and co-worker, (S.M) shared this recipe with me. It is suppose to be the secret recipe of a famous bakery that started operations in Montreal, with locations in Toronto.

My 2 Cents

I made these cookies with my girls on Mother’s Day. It was a fun activity where everyone took part without creating too much of a mess to clean up. Everyone was excited for the cookies to come out of the oven. The cookies did indeed come out soft and chewy and tasted just like the store bought ones. I would only point out one thing, and this is a personal preference, for me, I would cut down the sugar as it was a bit too sweet for me. Also to note, to fully enjoy these cookies, you should probably turn a blind eye to the amount of butter required to make it soft and chewy..

INGREDIENTS:
  1. 1 c. softened butter
  2. 1/2 c. sugar
  3. 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  6. 2 1/2 c. flour
  7. 3/4 tsp. salt
  8. 1 tsp. baking powder
  9. 1 tsp. baking soda
  10. 450 gr. Hershey milk chocolate chips (or a mixture of chips & Toblerone)
INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, sugar, eggs & vanilla. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and soda together. Add to mixture. Stir in chips. Roll into small balls (golf ball size), place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 9 minutes only!! Do not over bake. Even if the cookies look undercooked, they continue to bake on the pan until they cool. This is the secret to making them come out chewy.
